Mrs. Charles Freemont Coon passed away at her home in Ireton last Thursday, April 30th, following a lingering illness. Her health began failing more than five years ago and during this time she has been a sufferer. At times her condition was grave. The illness sapped her strength and death came calmly and he passed on without a struggle. Her two daughters were with her in the last days but she recognized them only at times when she was conscious. Her husband, who had been close and devoted all the years, saw to it that every need and care was provided that loving hands and heart could provide.

Funeral services were held from the home at 9:30 Sunday morning with Reverend George Scheider in charge. Music was rendered by Frank Crane, Emery Stewart, Mrs. Arthur Bartlett and Miss Bernice Vande Water. The pallbearers were F.W. Schuette, M.J. McNally, Fred Kluter, Earl Wells, Bert Fritz and James O’Meara.

Margaret Adelene White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas White, was born April 25, 1869, at White Oak Springs, Wisconsin and passed away in Ireton April 30, 1936, at the age of 67 years, and 5 days. In 1876 she came with her parents to Iowa and settled on a farm, southeast of Ireton, a mile and a half from Craig. She was married to C.F. Coon November 5, 1888. Three children were born to this union, one of them dying in infancy. The two, who with her husband survive her, are Mrs. Clifford Bray, Le Mars and Mrs. Robert Mulroney, Emmetsburg. After her marriage she lived on a farm near here for years, later moving to Armour, South Dakota. She also lived in Oregon and California. Three years ago she returned to Ireton and they lived with her father until his death May 13, 1934.

Besides her husband and two daughters she is survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three sisters– Mrs. Joe Spires of Fresno, California, Mrs. L. Smith of Wishik,North Dakota, Mrs. Ralph Herting of Burnstad, North Dakota, three brothers – John White of Hawarden, Alvin and Garfield White of Ireton
