Mrs. Debbie L. Van Otterloo, age 60, of Orange City, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019, at her residence.

There will be a funeral service on Saturday, August 10, at 10:30am, at the First Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Harlan De Jong will officiate. Following a time of lunch and fellowship, there will be a private family interment at the Whiting City Cemetery near Whiting, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Debbie Lynn was born on March 26, 1959, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Lois (McKeown) McVay. She was raised in the Sioux City area, where she attended the Lowell Elementary School, Riverside Jr. High School, and North High School.

She married William Walding, and together they raised their daughter Stacy.

On May 11, 2002, she married Ronald Dean Van Otterloo in Sheldon. They made their home on a farm south of Orange City.

In earlier years, she worked as a machinist at Soo Tools in Sioux City and on the production line at Gateway. In more recent years, she worked as a cook at Northwestern College in Orange City, and at several area nursing homes. She also worked in the housekeeping department of the Orange City Area Health System.

Debbie had a love for animals, especially cats. She also enjoyed listening to music and visiting with people whenever she could.

Survivors include her husband or more than seventeen years, Ron; her daughter, Stacy (Walding) Ritchie, of Smithland, and her daughters, Jackie Minton and Jaylie Ritchie; Ron’s three daughters, Jennifer Van Otterloo, of Worthington, Minnesota; Krystal Van Otterloo, of Hayward, California, and her children, Simon De Luna, Cynthia De Luna, and Angel Macias; and Candice Adame, of Sheldon, and her children, Javier Adame, Melody Adame, and Lilian Adame; a sister, Donna Gigaroa, of Sioux City; Ron’s mother, Sharon Van Otterloo; and Ron’s siblings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a Ron’s son, Jason Van Otterloo; her sister, Inez Ross; Ron’s father, Harold Van Otterloo; and many nieces and nephews.
