Marion “Bud” Rozeboom age 87 of Sioux Center, Iowa died Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Royale Meadows Care Center of Sioux Center.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Family will gather at the church for a prayer service at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center, with military honors by the Doornink-Brunsting Post 199, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6129.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Memorials may be directed to Sioux Center Health-Royale Meadows Care Center.

Marion Wilbur Rozeboom was born on February 22, 1932 in Sioux Center, IA, the son of John H. and Anna (Kruizenga) Rozeboom. He grew up in Sioux Center and later graduated from Sioux Center High School. Bud served in the U.S. Army from June 15, 1953 to May 6, 1955. While stationed in Germany he took part in a traveling basketball team. On January 18, 1956, he was united in marriage to Gertrude Den Herder in Sioux Center. Together they raised four children: Linda, Jerry, Dale and Pam.

After his time in the service, Bud worked for Den Herder Trucking from 1955 to 1974. In 1974, Bud and Gert started Rozeboom Trucking which they owned and operated until 1999. He had an amazing ability to do math in his head, especially when it came to the business and animals. Bud also enjoyed farming and visiting with friends over a cup of coffee at Doc’s Café and McDonald’s. His greatest joy was his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved sports and fully enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He will be greatly missed.

Bud is survived by four children: daughter, Linda (H. Robert) Goltz of Midland, MI, their children, Eric Goltz, Christopher (Natalie) Goltz, and Abby (Brandon) King; son, Jerry (LuEllyn) Rozeboom of Walker, IA, their children, Lee (Karoline) Rozeboom, Laine (Ben) Boesenberg, and Lance (Kristin) Rozeboom; son, Dale (Patricia) Rozeboom of Janesville, WI: their children, Mark Rozeboom, Marie (Andrew) de Stadler and Molly Rozeboom; daughter, Pam (Paul) Beaver of Sioux Center, IA: their children, Kaitlin (Ryan) Hoogeveen, Rees (Logan) Beaver and Madison (Chris) Borchers; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Goltz, Elijah Goltz, Lincoln King, Piper King, Lucille Rozeboom, Theodore Rozeboom, Matilda Rozeboom, Jared Boesenberg, Remington Boesenberg, Lance Arnold Rozeboom II, Bastian Rozeboom, Annabelle de Stadler, Luke de Stadler, and Dylan Hoogeveen; one sister, Eldine Wegener of Sun City, AZ; three sisters-in-law: Arta (Marvin) Schoep, Rosalie Prins and Ruth (Ivan) Mulder; nieces, nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Rozeboom; parents, John and Anna Rozeboom; and four siblings, Alice Van Wyke, James Rozeboom, Dick Rozeboom and Gerrit Rozeboom.
