Funeral services were held at the Reformed Church in Hospers at 2 p.m. Tuesday for Arthur John Wierks, 62, life-long resident of Hospers community, who died February 18 at the Garden Park General hospital at Anaheim, California, where he had lived since his retirement as a rural mail carrier last December.

Services were conducted by the Reverend M. Tysen and burial was made in the Hospers Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home.

Mr. Wierks, the son of Bastian and Bertha (Kramer) Wierks, was born at Hospers March 5, 1903. On August 9, 1927, he was united in marriage to Wilmene Hoff at Hospers. To this union were born three daughters and two sons, all of whom survive him along with his wife. There are eight grandchildren.

Also surviving him is a brother, Harold, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
