Mrs. Cornelius Wierks died at her daughter’s home on Sunday November 26, 1933.

Sietske Stienstra was born at Friesland, Netherlands, on April 11, 1845. She was 88 years, 6 months and ten days of age at the time of her death.

She was united in marriage to Peter J. Wierda on May 1868 in the Netherlands. To this union five children were born. Two died during infancy in the Netherlands and Charles died while living in Omaha not many years ago. She is survived by two children, Jacob P. Wierda of Hospers and Mrs. Katie Monson of Hospers; also one brother, Nanne Stienstia, residing in the Netherlands; also 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She came to America in the year 1880.

After Mr. Wierda’s death she was united in marriage to Cornelius Wierks.

Her good natured character brought her a long ways in her life. She was always content and satisfied.

When she came to America she resided in and around Hospers. She took sick on Tuesday afternoon and was ill for a few days.

Pallbearers were John Popema, Steve De Vries, William Rouwenhorst, Alexander Klein, Pete Reider and A. Nieuwenhuis.

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church with services also at the home of Mrs. Katie Monson at 1:30 in the home and at 2 o’clock in the Church. Reverend Stegeman preached the Holland service and Reverend Budd the English services.
