Orange City Girl Called By Death

Tracy Leola, the daughter of William and Gertrude (Dykstra) Westra of Orange City passed away January 6 following an illness of several weeks caused by sinus infection.

She was 14 years, 5 months and 9 days of age. Of a happy, tender hearted and kind disposition, her passing is felt deeply by family and many friends.

Leola underwent an operation for sinus and was in the LeMars hospital for four days, returning home Tuesday. A high fever developed and in spite of all that loving hands could do she passed beyond.

Besides her parents, Leola is survived by two brothers and three sisters. She was born at Tracy, Minnesota, on July 27, 1918.

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church, Reverend Colenbrander conducting, and burial was at the Orange City Cemetery.

A great concourse of friends and relatives attended the services, among those from a distance being the following: K. Terpstra, Herman Lantinger, Abraham and Gys Van Steenwyk, all of Bemis, South Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dykstra of Castlewood, South Dakota; Charles Dykstra of Omaha; Misses Dorothy and Theresa Dykstra of Newton; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Westra and daughter Eileen of Rock Rapids; the Lou Brandsma family of Sioux City, besides a host of friends and relatives from towns of Sioux County.

The family has the sympathy of the entire community in their loss.
