Funeral Services For Hattie Westra Held

Mrs. Hattie Westra, a former Hull resident passed away at the age of 73 years in Artesia, California, February 27, 1968. Mrs. Westra was born on April 4, 1894 to Teunis and Antje (Terpstra) Brunsting. She was married to Henry Westra in 1914. He passed away in 1927.

Funeral service was held Saturday, March 2 from Bethel Reformed Church in Bellflower, California with Reverend Chester Droog officiating and on Monday, March 4 from First Reformed Church in Hull with Reverend Gary Vander Kamp officiating, a former pastor of Bethel Reformed Church of Bellflower, California.

Mr. Audley Tensen was soloist. He sang, "Under His Wings," and "Near to the Heart of God."
Pallbearers: Gerald and Ted Brunsting, Marvin Westra, John De Groot, Lewis Van Batavia, and John Westra. Interment at Hope Cemetery in Hull, Kraai Funeral Home were in charge of funeral arrangements.

Survivors are one son, Tony, 2 daughters, Mrs. Albert Cook and Mrs. Virgil Kooiman, all of California; 10 grandchildren and six great- grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Rena Heusinkveld, Mrs. George De Groot of Hull, Mrs. Walter Smit of Artesia, California and Mrs. Henry Westra of Hull.
