Little Boy Dies of Lock Jaw

The four-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jacobsma died Monday after an illness of a few days with lock jaw. The little lad stepped on a nail about ten days before he was taken ill and the fatal disease followed. Everything possible was done to save his young life, but he could not survive.

Funeral services were held in the Christian Reformed church in Rock Valley Thursday afternoon. The bereaved parents have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their great loss.

His death certificate adds his birth date, Oct. 11, 1930; parents Robert Jacobsma, born in Orange City, and Anna Kooima, born in Sioux County; died at 11:00 a.m. August 20, 1934; cause, tetanus, onset Aug. 18, 1934; contributory cause, puncture wound of left foot, about August 10, 1934.
