Mrs. Gerrit Wegter, nee Nellie Langstraat, passed away April 15, 1968 in the Nursing Wing of the Community Hospital at Sioux Center after a lingering illness. She had reached the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 28 days. She was born October 17, 1889, at Newkirk, the daughter of Peter and Johanna Langstraat.

She was united in marriage to Gerrit Wegter in Newkirk on February 18, 1910. To this union eight children were born one of whom was stillborn. She lived her entire life in Sioux County. Mr. and Mrs. Wegter farmed in the Boyden and Hull Community until 1945 when they moved to Boyden. Mr. Wegter preceded her in death in 1956. In 1958 Mrs. Wegter became a resident of the Sioux Center Nursing Wing.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Fanny.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 18, 1968 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Reformed Church of Boyden with the Reverend Jack O. Boerigter, pastor of the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center, officiating. Special music will be sung by Mrs. Ray Smit and Mrs. Scott Sneller. Interment will take place at Boyden Cemetery.
