Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 21, 1:30 P.M. for Dwight Eugene Wallace, at the Porter Funeral Home. Mr. Wallace died unexpectedly at the Lincoln Hotel, in Sioux Falls, on January 18th. At the time of his death, he was employed as a chef at the Townsend Hotel, of Casper, Wyoming. Services were officiated by Reverend Raymond Roloff of Rock Valley.

Mr. Wallace was born November 14, 1910, the son of Henry and Siena Wallace, of Canton, South Dakota. He attended schools in and near Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Canton, South Dakota. He served in the merchant marines from the age of 20 years until 1954. He married Janet Vogelzang of Rock Valley, on August 27, 1954. He had visited in Rock Valley on January 14th and 15th.

He is survived by Mrs. Janet Wallace, Glorene Jann, Joyce Coba, and Vernon Gene Wallace of Rock Valley; three brothers, Floyd of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Francis of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Henry of Rangeley, Colorado; two sisters, Mary, Mrs. Clifford Olson of Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Pauline Stoik of Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

Pallbearers were George Olson, Sam Vogelzang, Loren Olson, John Smith, Tom McGill and Hein Kosters. Music was Mrs. Ed DeHaas, vocalist and Mrs. Peter Wynia, organist.

Interment was in the Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley, under the Porter Funeral Home.
