From the Alton Democrat, November 21, 1908:

Mrs. David Brown died at her home in Canada recently at an advanced age. She formerly lived in Boyden where she has many acquaintances and friends

From the Boyden Reporter, November 14, 1908:

Mrs. David Brown died at her Canadian home last week Saturday morning [November 7?]. She had reached a good ripe age and has been slowly failing for the past two or three years, and more rapidly as the time passed away, until her redeemer called her to join the loved ones who have preceded her to the everlasting home and found her ready for the call. Mrs. Brown is well known to all our people and she has a warm spot in the hearts of all as she was a tried and true friend to all who came under her sphere of influence.
