Iva Ellen Wagner, 88, Watervliet, Missouri, died Tuesday October 18, in Watervliet.

Mrs. Wagner was born September 27, 1905, in Sloan, the daughter of Ray I. and Myrtle (Napier) Rhodes. She attended school in Sloan. Om August 9, 1925, she married Reverend Charles F. Wagner at Hawarden. The couple lived in Turin and Hawarden until 1963 when they moved to Kansas. In 1976 they moved to Cal Junction, Missouri. She had been a nursing home attendant in Hawarden and Columbus, Kansas. Reverend Wagner died September 22, 1978, in Joplin, Missouri. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include four sons: Reverend Ray Wagner of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Rex Wagner of Car Junction, Missouri; Mickey Wagner of Biloxi, Mississippi; and Reverend Roger Wagner of Fremont, Nebraska; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Doris) Thurston of Watervliet, Michigan; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, May Witt of Dubuque; one brother, Merton Rhodes of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Charles, Jr.; a daughter, Mildred; a grandson, Charles; two great-grandchildren, Ryean and Luke; one sister, Emma Mollhoff; and one brother, Leo Rhodes.

Services were held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 22, 1994, at the United Pentecostal Church in Onawa, with Reverend Brian Kinney, Brother Harrell Boyd and Reverend Jerry Tiller officiating. The pianist, Nancy Newton, accompanied the duet, Joanna and Darrel Sparlin, in special musical selections.

Honorary Bearers were Rex Wagner, Ray Wagner, Ralph Thurston, Mickey Wagner and Roger Wagner.

Casket bearers were Tommy Wagner, Steve Thurston, Dana Wagner, Roger Wagner, Jr., Timothy Wagner and Jonathan Carter.

Interment was in Belvidere Cemetery at Turin, Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
