Johan F. "John" Waanders, well known Hospers citizen, died at his home in that town Wednesday, February 23, at 6:30 A.M.

Mr. Waanders was born at Freeyevrr, Overyssel, Netherlands, on September 17, 1866. He came to America and to Hospers at the age of sixteen years. On November 5, 1896, he married Jennie Kreykes at Hospers. Eleven children were born to them, three dying in infancy. The children who survive are Doores, manager of the Farmers Elevator at Hospers; Reka, Mr. Peter Yonder of Sioux City; Johanna, Wilhelmina, Magdalena, John William, John and Arie, all at home.

Mr. Waanders was janitor at the public school for 14 years and also janitor for the Christian Reformed Church 20 years.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon with services at one o’clock in the home and at 1:30 in the Christian Reformed Church.
