Elvaton E. Waite, aged 77, residing with his daughter, Mrs. Maude L. Hannum, southeast of Parker, committed suicide on Tuesday evening of last week by shooting himself through the temple.

He was married to Juliaette "Julia" (Holcomb) Waite. They were the parents of three children: Maude Hannum, Malden C, Waite, and Harry E. Waite. She passed away in 1904.

He was despondent because of a cancer.
