Jacobus Wabeke, 79, passed away at the Doornink Hospital Friday, November 3, at 11 o'clock in the evening. He became ill on Sunday, October 29, and was taken to the hospital.

He was born at Zeeland, the Netherlands on October 22. 1865.

He came to America at the age of 23 and worked on the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Duven near Maurice.

In 1892 he married Miss Christina Roghair of Maurice. He purchased a farm about 9 miles west of Orange City.

For the past 22 years Mr. Wabeke lived in town in southwest Orange City.

The two sons are Cornelius of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Gerrit who lives on his father's farm near Maurice. There are .. grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death many years ago.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Van Etten Funeral Parlors and at the First Reformed Church of which he was a member. Reverend H. Colenbrander officiated and interment was made in the local cemetery.
