Ira Tinkham, youngest son of Clarence M. and Tena F. Tinkham, died at Monument, Kansas, January 5th from lepta-meningitis. The body was brought to Ireton for burial and interment was made here, Wednesday, beside the grave of his father. Brief services were conducted by Reverend Lumley at the W.I. Thompson home.

The deceased was born in Ireton March 17, 1899. At the age of seven years he moved with his parents to South Dakota. They afterwards moved to Emporia, Kansas then to Burlington, Kansas and then located in Monument, Kansas, where he has since made his home.

Last fall he entered a veterinary college at Kansas City but his health failed and he was obliged to return home December 20th. He was immediately confined to his bed and he never rallied from this illness. His father died when Ira was only 12 years old, and it was left for the mother to raise him to young manhood. His untimely death is a sad blow to her. He also leaves to mourn his death, two brothers and relatives and friends unnumbered.

The sorrowing mother and brothers, accompanied by W.I. Thompson, who had been called to Monument some days ago, brought the body to Ireton.
