Mrs. Sam Timmers, nee Nettie Ten Hoven, was born in the Netherlands on April 8, 1878, and came to this country when 14 years of age. She was united in marriage to Steve Vander Horst. To this union three children were born: Gerrit of Los Angeles, California; (Minnie) Mrs. Ed DenHerder of Sioux Center, and Steve Vander Horst, who preceded her in death in December 1927.

In May, 1917, she was united in marriage to Sam Timmers. Besides her husband, she is survived by her two children, seven grandchildren, and one brother, Henry Ten Hoven of Woodstock, Minnesota.

She passed away on Monday October 12, at the age of 64 years, six months and four days, after an illness of almost a year.

Funeral services were conducted from the home on Thursday and at the First Reformed Church by Reverend J.W. Brink, who spoke in Holland language, assisted by Reverend R.I. Barnes of the United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Ray Smit and Mrs. Anthony Smit, sang two selections. Burial was in the Boyden Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jake Westra, Seim Schortinghuis, H. Harman, Arie Vander Hout, S. Smidt, and Bas Dekker.
