Services for Mrs. Anna E. Thorman, long time resident here, were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville Thursday morning. Mrs. Thorman died January 21 at the age of 69 years, 11 months and 12 days. She had been ill for a year.

Reverend E.E. Apt officiated at the Requiem Mass and acolytes were three grandsons, Freddie, George and Daniel Hunt and Teddy Vosburg.

Ann Elizabeth Krebs was born February 9, 1882 at Alton, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Krebs and attended St. Mary’s School at Alton. May 16, 1905 she was married to George Thorman. The couple lived on a farm near Granville until retiring from farm life about 14 years ago. Mr. Thorman died May 16, 1935.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Margaret) De Vries, Ashton; Mrs. Tony (Helen) Hunt, Granville; Mrs. Ben (Clara) Ahlers, Worthington, Minnesota; 16 grandchildren and two sisters: Mrs. Barney Meyer of Andover, South Dakota and Mrs. Kate Barron of Alvord, Iowa. One daughter, Gertrude, died in infancy, and a son Max in 1938.

Pallbearers were Arnold Muehl, Joe Kokenge, Alvis Obermann, Joe Neuroth, Vincent O’Connor and Paul Diederich. Interment was in the local cemetery.

Mrs. Thorman was a devoted mother and kind neighbor. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Parish and of the Christian Mothers Confraternity, who attended the funeral in a body.
