Vernon Dale Rozeboom, age 64, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, formerly of Sioux Center, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars, Iowa.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Central Reformed Church of Sioux Center, Iowa with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM with family present at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

In lieu of flowers or gifts the family prefer memorial donations and will choose a charity of their choice at a later date.

Vernon Dale Rozeboom was born January 26, 1955 in Sioux Center, IA to Art and Johanna (Wolfswinkle) Rozeboom. He was raised on the family farm east of Sioux Center and graduated from Sioux Center High School. Vern enjoyed playing football in high school and was a part of the state champion team in 1972. On August 23, 1975 he was united in marriage to Denise Zeutenhorst. To this marriage one child was born, Travis. In 1982, after battling cancer, Denise passed away. Vern married Kathy Schouten in 1983. They welcomed two children, Tasha and Colten. The couple made their home in Sioux Center until 2015.

Vernon worked most of his life in construction and as an independent contractor. He started in the construction business with Bill Rens but later went out on his own. He operated Creative Builders, from 1988 until 2015. He then worked driving truck for TTC Trucking.

Vern loved his family very much. His children and grandchildren will hold many fond memories. He was truly a devoted and proud family man. This past Tuesday Vern passed away suddenly at the age of 64. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his son, Travis (Amy) Rozeboom and their children, Zachery, Landon, Jaiden, and Easton, all of Sioux Center, IA; daughter, Tasha (Joseph) Stewart and their children, Taden and Jetson, all of Jackson, NE; and Colten and his girlfriend Kellie Eilts of Denver, CO; Vern’s ex-wife, Kathy Rozeboom; brother, Henry Rozeboom of Lowell, MI; sister, Verna (Jim) Reeverts of Lakeland, FL; Vern’s girlfriend, Maribeth Larson of Sioux Falls, SD; many nieces, nephews and other extended family members; and last but not least, his granddogs, Harley, Brutus and Titus.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Johanna Rozeboom; wife, Denise (Zeutenhorst) Rozeboom; brother, Bernard Rozeboom; nephew, Craig Reeverts; father-in-law Marvin Zeutenhorst: and sister-in-law, Margaret Rozeboom; ex-parents-in-law, Jean Hopper and Bob Schouten.
