George Thomassen died at his home Monday after a long illness at the age of 49 years.

He was the son of Johannes Thomassen and Isabella Pelmulder Thomassen.

Surviving him are his widow, Gertrude; his mother, three sons Reuben in California, Johnnie and Arthur of Orange City and two daughters Jean 14, of Orange City and Isabelle in California, also two brothers Joe in California and John in Wisconsin and one sister Mrs. Gertrude Severson of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held at the home at 1:30 and in the First Reformed Church Wednesday at 2 o'clock with the Reverend S. Menning officiating. Burial was made in the local cemetery.
