Lawrence Fred Louie Tiedeman, son of Henry and Caroline (nee Lutjen) Tiedeman, was born April 23rd, 1914, near Hull, Sioux County, Iowa, ¼ mile south of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

He was baptized on the 14th day of June, 1914 by Pastor Paul Bunge. After due instruction he was confirmed on March 24th, 1929, by Pastor Ed Goeringer in St. Paul Lutheran Church, of which he was a lifelong member.

On October 7th, 1936, he was united in Holy Matrimony with Pearl Westra of Hull, Iowa.

They started farming on the farm just across from his birthplace, and lived there until his accidental death on November 25th, 1968, at about 4:00 p.m. He attained the age of 54 years, 7 months, and 2 days.

This union was blessed with 6 children, 2 daughters and 4 sons.

He leaves to mourn his departure his beloved wife Pearl; daughters: Darlene, Mrs. Harold Sohl of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Carol, Mrs. Ronald Flynn of Argusville, North Dakota; sons: Harold of Hull, Iowa, Ronald, Leroy and James at home; 5 grandchildren: Gary and Bonnie Sohl, Harold Tiedeman, Jr., Juanita and Kelly Flynn; his mother, Caroline Tiedeman, residing in Pleasant Acres Nursing Home at Hull, Iowa; 2 sisters and 4 brothers, Alfred and William of Hull, Lillian, Mrs. Ernest Goeringer Ceylon, Minnesota, Mathilda, Mrs. H. William Sohl of Hull, Iowa, Edward of Ashton, Iowa, Vernon of Hull, Iowa, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was an active member of his church, having served as a Trustee, on the Building Committee, Cemetery Board and the Board of Education, a member of the Brotherhood and a member of Senior Choir.

At the fall meeting he was elected to serve as president of the congregation for year 1969.

He was also very active in community affairs, serving as a director of Farmers Coop Association at various times, and presently serving as a director of Coop Gas and Oil Company, and the Betterment Corporation of Hull, Iowa.
