Kramer, Gertrude Miss born abt 1865 Germany died Sep 26, 1891 St. Joseph’s cemetery Granville IA (WPA record)

Believed to be the daughter of Nickolas and Elizabet Kramer of Granville.

In 1885 Nickolas Kramer 1829 Germany lived in East Orange Sioux, wife Elizabet (Schoo/Schur?) 59 children John 22, and Gertrude 18. Their son Adam 1855-1888 died Plymouth Co.

Nickolas died 24 Apr 1904 Granville IA. See obit of Mrs. Eliz Nick 1826-1896 which states one daughter Mrs. Eva Frank Diederich.

Saw no reference to Gertrude in 1895 census. So is believed to have died between 1885-1895.

A telegram was received from Sioux City, Saturday, announcing the death of Miss Gertie Kramer who was severely burned by gasoline in an open vessel catching fire. At first it was thought she would survive the severe ordeal, but blood poisoning set in, and all hope was given up. The funeral was held Sunday and the remains were followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of sorrowing friends.
