Services Held for Robert Van Sloten Funeral services were held here Tuesday, October 31 for Robert Wayne Van Sloten, 22, of Chino, Cal. Van Sloten died of gun shot wounds suffered during the course of a hold-up in Ontario, Cal. He was driving a cab when held up by a man believed to be Gilbert Mac Donald of Pomona, Cal: Mac Donald was later attested and charged with attempted murder in the case. Young Van Stolen suffered five gunshot wounds while attempting to flee from the robber.

He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Van Sloten, and was a former resident of Rock Valley. His grandparents, Mr. and Ms. Charlie DeVries reside here. Besides his grandparents and parents he is survived by a sister, Lynn and a brother, Charles.

Services were held at Potters Funeral Home at 1:30. Music was a duet by Ted Stientjes and Mrs Ed Abema Organist was Mrs. Ken DeGroot.

Pallbearers were Gt. A. Van Maanen, Wm Groeneweg, Geo. Hendricks, Walley Groeneweg, Harlan Van Voorst and Jon Huyser. Interment was in Valley Vieiv Cemetery.
