Mr. Arthur Te Grotenhuis, age 77, of Orange City, passed away Tuesday, September 8, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, after a three month illness.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 11, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Reformed Church of Orange City, with the Reverend Steven Vander Molen and the Reverend Thomas Vander Zouwen officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of the VanEtten-Oolman-VanGelder Funeral Home in Orange City.

Arthur John was born July 8, 1915, at Orange City, the son of Gerrit J. and Rena (Bonnema) Te Grotenhuis. He was raised at Orange City.

On December 14,1939, he married Kate Hannema at Orange city. They farmed at Orange City and at Maurice until 1962.

They then moved into Orange City, where he was employed by Tolman Fabricating. He retired in 1980.

Mr. Te Grotenhuis ws a lifetime member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Marilyn Cooper, of Orange City; son, Norman Te Grotenhuis, and his wife, Rosemary, of Orange City; four grandchildren, Debra Cooper, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Kevin Cooper, and his wife, Dawn; Bradley Te Grotenhuis and his wife, Yevonne; and Brenda Te Grotenhuis, all of Orange City; a great-grandson, Tyler Te Grotenhuis; and two brothers, Russell and Eugene Te Grotenhuis, both of Orange City.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Milo "Mike" Te Grotenhuis.
