JULIUS E. TALSMA RITES THURSDAY AT SIOUX CITY

Julius E. Talsma, 49, of Sioux City died Monday at a Sioux City Hospital after an illness of eight years.

Funeral services will be at 3:30 P.M. Thursday at Morningside Church of Christ, of which he was a member and burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born February 17, 1908 at Alton and attended the local public school. He married Frances Vander Stoep of Orange City September 30, 1926 at Watertown, South Dakota and the couple became parents of eight children. The family lived at Orange City for a time and moved to Sioux City in 1942. He was employed for Watson Brothers Trans. Company until ill health forced his retirement in 1950. He was a World War II Army Veteran.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Glenn, Yankton, South Dakota and Robert, Bellflower, California; six daughters, Mrs. Janice Fraser, Bellflower; Mrs. Carolyn Merchant, Lakewood, California, Mrs. Arta Hull, Misses Mary, Judy and Kay, all of Sioux City; two sisters: Mrs. Milton McCarthy of Alexander, Iowa and Mrs. Jeanette Nootnagel of Charles City, Iowa.
