It has pleased Almighty God in his wise providence to call Mr. Albert Techen to his eternal home in heaven.

Albert Henry Techen was born on April 17, 1876 in Dova, Wisconsin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Techen. There the deceased was brought to the Lord in Holy Baptism. At the age of three Mr. Techen came with his parents to Iowa and settled down north of Hull, where the days of youth were spent. On the 22nd of March, 18991, the deceased was Confirmed in At. Paul’s Lutheran Church, at Hull, by pastor Baedtke thus making confession of his own faith.

On April 18, 1902, he was united in marriage with Martha Schlossin of Waterville, Minnesota. The couple lived north of Hull for three years, after which they moved to Minnesota for one year, returning again to live south of Rock Valley, living at Perkins for eight years, then north of Hull for 18 years, southwest of George for ten years and for the past five years east of Melvin.

To this union five children were born, four daughters: Eslie, Ellen, Arvilla, Leona and one son Arlie.

On Sunday evening the deceased passed away at his home east of Melvin, at 7:30 O’clock, reaching the age of 74 years, 9 months and 18 days.

Those who mourn his death are his beloved wife, four daughters and one son: Mrs. Melvin Miller of Janesville, Minnesota, Mrs. Ben Miller, Waterville, Minnesota; Arlie Techen of Doon; Mrs. Henry Breuer of Hull; Mrs. Wilbur Scheerhorn of Melvin; 12 grandchildren; two brothers: John and Henry of Hull.

Mr. Techen was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. Always concerned about his soul’s salvation, on Thursday of last week he partook of Holy Communion for the strengthening of his faith and for reassurance, again, of the forgiveness of sins, life and salvation in Christ Jesus. “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord.”

The deceased was brought to St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, northeast of Hull, for burial.

Pallbearers were: Edward Techen, Walter Techen, Arthur Techen, Elmer Techen, Herman Kaster and Fred Drenkow.
