NIC VANDER KOOI Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Van Etten Funeral Home in Orange City for Nic Vander Kooi, 59, who passed away December 2 in a Cherokee hospital. His pastor, Rev. Henry Colenbrander, officiated and interment was made at Middleburg.

Mr. Vander Kooi was born November 9, 1899, at Middleburg. He spent his entire life in the Sioux County vicinity, living with his mother until she died in 1938. Since that time he worked for farmers in this community and made his home at the County Farm.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Gertie Grifhorst of Orange City and Mrs. Rena Hansen of California, and one brother, Peter Vander Kooi of Sioux City. His parents, one sister and an infant brother preceded him in death.
