BURIAL HERE FOR FORMER RESIDENT, EDWARD TALSMA

Ed Talsma, former freight agent at Alton died at his home in Sioux City Tuesday. Graveside services will be held at Alton in Nassau Township Cemetery this Thursday afternoon in the Talsma lot where his wife is buried.

Edward W. Talsma, 67, 2425 S. Cypress Street, a former longtime employee of the Chicago and North Western Railroad at Alton, Iowa, died Tuesday at a hospital after an illness of two months.

Mrs. Talsma was born October 10, 1884, son of Ed and Nettie (Druger) Talsma, in Illinois. He went to Alton as a child and he was married there October 5, 1905, to Arta Tott. She died June 8, 1944, in Webster City, Iowa.

Mrs. Talsma was employed by the railroad 43 years and his latest service was as a cashier. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Alton.

Survivors include a son, Julius E. of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Milton McCarthy of Akron, Iowa and Mrs. Vern Nootenagel of Charles City, Iowa; two brothers, Cornelius of Chicago and Ike of Worthington, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Lagendyke and Mrs. Alice Sutton, both of Sheldon, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside has charge of arrangements.
