Services held for Joe Steensma Funeral services for Mr. Joe B. Steensma. 78, were held Wednesday. Oct. 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dover Avenue Alliance Church with the Rev.J. Van Kekerix and the Rev. J, He Woodward of Phoenix, Ariz, officiated. Burial was made in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home,, Mr. Steensma passed away Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Orange City Hospital after an illness of several months at his home.

Mr. Steensma was born in Witmarsum. Friesland, Netherlands on January 17, 1891 and came to Plymouth County near Struble. in 1909. at the age of 18 years. He was married to Rena Mulder of Carnes, lA. on Feb. 17, 1916. They were engaged in farming at Sanborn and between LeMars and Orange City until their retirement in 1946, MY, Steensma was a charter member of the Dover Avenue Alliance Church.

Surviving are the widow; one daughter, Cynthia: one brother. William of Yankton. So. Dak.: and one stepbrother, Nick Hilarides of Milwaukee, Wise. He was preceded in death by one son, Gerald, in 1938. one brother, John of Sanborn, and also a brother and sister in the Netherlands,
