Snyders, Mr Hendrik J. abt 1820-1895
Alton Democrat of Jan 5, 1895
After a long illness, Mr. H. Snyders died last Friday afternoon the home of his daughter, Mrs. L Wheeler, at the ripe age of 75 years and two months. Deceased has been a resident of the city from almost the beginning of the settlement and did well in the merchant tailoring business. For years, or since the death of his wife, he took life easy, and most of the time was lovingly cared for the daughter at whose home breathed his last. Two children, Mrs. L. Wheeler of this city and Mr. L. Snyders of Orange City, are left mourn the death of a kind and indulgent parent. The funeral services were held from the home of Mr. Wheeler Sabbath afternoon and were conducted by Dr. J. Stuart and Elder A. Van Stigt. So are the faithful called one by one to their home above where loved ones have gone on before, —Pella Blade.1885 Iowa census Henry J. Snyders born about 1820 Neth.
