SERVICES HELD SATURDAY FOR MRS. JOHN H. STIENTJES

Memorial services were held Saturday at the First Reformed Church in Hull for Mrs. John Stientjes, nee Angeline Claerbout, who passed away Wednesday, February 23, at the age of 61 years, 3 months and 23 days, following a lingering illness.

Reverend William C. DeJong of Rock Rapids officiated and arrangements were by Kraai Funeral Home in Hull. Interment was at the Boyden Cemetery.

At the services, Mrs. Willis Brouwer and Mrs. Edwin Boote sang “Safe in the Arms of Jesus” and “Nearer, Still Nearer.” Mrs. John Douma was organist. Pallbearers were Edgar De Leeuw, Lloyd Van’t Hof, Sidney Stellinga, Clifford Van Schepen, Ted Stientjes and Harlan Stientjes.

Mrs. Stientjes, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Claerbout, was born October 31, 1904 and grew to womanhood and made Sioux County her home most of her life, and on September 24, 1931, was united in marriage to John Stientjes.

She leaves to mourn: her husband, her father; four sisters, Florence, Mrs. William Kuipers, Henrietta, Mrs. Jake De Leeuw; Winifred, Mrs. LouVan Schepen and Wilma, Mrs. John Boer. She was preceded in death by her mother Jennie (Jansma) Stientjes.
