Elmer A. Streff, aged 5 years and 10 months, passed away very suddenly on Monday morning, June 30th. The little lad’s heart failed when he suffered from a spell of sickness. He had never been a strong child and was troubled more or less with heart trouble. His death came, however, as a severe shock to the parents, Peter and Magdalene (Hastert) Streff and family. Reverend Brune was in Des Moines at the time and was notified by wire.

The funeral was held from St. Mary’s Church Wednesday morning. He was laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery, Alton, Sioux County, Iowa.
