ALVIN LINCH Funeral services for Alvin Linch, 63, well-known Sheldon area farmer, were held at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at the First Reformed church in Sheldon. The Rev. Harvis VerKaik officiated. Burial was in Eastlawn Cemetery. under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home.

Mr. Linch was killed instantly Saturday when he was entangled in the power takeoff for a corn unloading machine at his farm. He was born February 8, 1904, at the same farm and married Irene Huibregtse June 30, 1932, at Sanborn, Iowa. He was a 1922 graduate of Sheldon High School and at the time of his death was president of the Sioux County Rural Electric Cooperative Board. He had been director of the Matlock Iowa elevator for 15 years. He was past president of the Grant Township School Board, a member of the Sioux County Extension Council and the Sioux County Committee, was a charter member of the Farm Bureau and also was a 4-H leader.

Survivors include the widow: two daughters, Carol and Mary, both students at the University of Iowa at Iowa City; a sister and a brother, Mrs. William Morris and Robert Linch, both of Sheldon.
