Vrijdag werd alhier per telegram het trenrige bericht ontvangen dat te Hornick IA platseling was overladen Mrs. J. Ellerbroek, zuster van Mrs. Gorter en tante van Mr. John Ellerbroek alhier. Mr. and Mrs. Gorter en J. Ellerbroek vertrokken Zaterdag naat Hornich om tegenwoordig te zijn bij de teraardebestelling van het stoffelijk overshot der overledene. J. Ellerbroek keerde Maandag avond weder alhier terug terwijl Mr. and Mrs. Gorter eenige dagen in Hornick dachten te blijven.

Attempted Translation:
On Friday a message was received by telegram which was sent from Hornick IA, relating the Mrs. J Ellerbroek sister (in law) of Mrs. Gorter and aunt of John Ellerbroek of here had died. Mr. and Mrs. Gorter and J. Ellerbroek left for Honick on Saturday to be present for the burial of the remains of the deceased.

Note: From info gathered from ancestry.com (by others) she is believed to be Anna Marie Olivier born 1843 Neth. married Juriaan Ellerbroek (1844-1935) Sept 27, 1866 in Mahaska IA. They had eight children. No death date was given however Juriaan married Johanna Vanhaaften Feb 1, 1899 so his first wife was deceased. The family report indicates she died 1896.
