Dalten (Dal) Droog October 9, 1924—September 20, 1994 Dalten Droog, 69. of Sioux Center died Tuesday. September 20, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. September 22, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Sioux Center, with the Rev. Robert Holwerda officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Sioux Center.

Droog was born October 9, 1924, to Peter F. and Helen (Van Vugt) Droog at Hull. North Dakota. He married Betty Haak on February 22, 1946, at her parents home in Hull. Prior to moving to Sioux Center In 1967, he owned a dairy farm near Hull. He operated the Standard Oil Station in Sioux Center with his brother, John.

The couple moved to Orange City where they managed the Pioneer Home from 1980 until 1989. They then retired in Sioux Center.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law and three daughters and sons-in-law, Roger and Lila Droog of Orange City, Linda and Lyle Klein of Sioux Center. Owen and Delmer Groen of Mesa, Arizona, Becky and Rich De Gropt of Orange City and Randy and Valarie Droog of Orange City; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Nell Groen of Lynden, Washington, Henrietta Nieuwsma and Bertha and Willie Nieuwsma, all of Hull, North Dakota; one brother and sister-in-law, John Gerald and Grace Droog of Sioux Center; one brotherin-law. Gurdis Dykema of Strasburg North Dakota; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers. Peter and Cornie; six sisters, Ann. Liz, Cert, Freda, Janet and Ada; and a grandson.
