Dick Dirksen, 67, rural Rock Valley, died Thursday in Hegg Memorial Hospital, Rock Valley. Mr. Dirksen was born April 9,1921, in Rock Valley and attended rural Rock Valley schools. He served in the Army in World War II. He married Dena Coulander Aug. 18, 1945, in Downey, Ala. They farmed in the rural Hawarden area and later the rural Rock Valley area. He was a member of Lebanon Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors are his wife; a brother Herman, Rock Valley; four sisters: Mrs. Ellie Warntjes and Mrs. Minie De Vos, both of Hull, Iowa; Mrs. Fred (Clara) Bonestroo, Sheldon, Iowa; and Mrs. EH (Rena) Niemeyer, Inwood, Iowa. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Lebanon Christian Reformed Church, rural Sioux Center. Visitation was held at the Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley.
