Mrs. Wm. Dierks Dies at Age 50 Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Life Long Resident of Sioux County Mother Dies Three Days Before

Funeral services for Mrs. William Dierks, 50, who died Saturday night at the Hawarden hospital, were held at the Barnard Funeral home at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon and at 2 o'clock at Trinity Lutheran church. Rev. H. W. Krieger of St. Paul's Lutheran church of Ireton was in charge. Interment was in Grace Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Dierks had been ill for some time and about a month ago was taken to the hospital. Her death was the second in the Witt family within a week. Her mother, Mrs. Herman Witt, died Wednesday night, July 7. Mamie Witt, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Witt, a life long resident of Sioux county, was born June 17, 1898. Prior to her marriage she operated a beauty parlor in Hawarden. She married William Dierks of Gladbrook, Iowa, at Waukegan, IL., June 21, 1928. After her marriage they lived on a farm northeast of Hawarden.

Survivors are her husband; four children, Shirley, William, Donna and Mjron, all at home; her father, Herman Witt; two brothers, Alfred and Walter Witt of Hawarden, and one sister, Mrs. Peter Moeller of Ireton.

Out of town people who attended the funeral were Mrs. Martin Johnson of Council Bluffs, Will Bertram of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Thiesen of Lakefield, Minn,, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thiesen of Spirit Lake, Mrs. Denton Conn and Mrs. Anna Thiesen of Primghar, Mr. ad Mrs. Fred C. Dierks and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Mouw and son of Rock Valley, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dierks and family of Inwood, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dierks and Sandra of Beaman, Herbert Dierks of Waterloo and Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Bertram and Bert Fritz of Ireton.
