Albert Steck, born October 9, 1851 in the province of Gronigen, Netherlands. He was united in marriage to Miss Ida Bloem. To this union was born eight children. One daughter preceding in death; Jennie, Mrs. Tom Gerritsen, Rock Valley; Ben, of Sioux City; Anna, Mrs. C. Brower, Rock Rapids; Delko, of Rock Valley; Tony of Fort Dodge; Dan of Sibley; Jerry of Rock Valley and twenty-three grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Steck had attained the age of 88 years, 3 months and 23 days at the time of his passing on February 2, 1940.

Funeral services were held at the Jerry Steck home at 1 o’clock on Tuesday and at the First Reformed Church at 1:30 o’clock conducted by Reverend H. J. Aberson pastor. Interment took place in Valley View Cemetery.

The family name in the Netherlands is Stek.
