Richard J. Starkenburg Rites Wednesday

Funeral services for Richard Starkenburg, 88, a resident of Orange City for 83 years were held Wednesday at the First Christian Reformed Church, Reverend John B. Hulst officiating.

Survivors are three sisters Mrs. Lou Ketel of Worthington, Minnesota; Mrs. Anna Kamstra of Brookings, South Dakota and Mrs. Margaret Jackus of Pierre, South Dakota.

Richard was born January 29, 1875, the son of Jan and Aukje (Sipma) Starkenburg. He was the oldest of a family of 12, eight brothers having preceded him in death. Mr. Starkenburg was unmarried.

Expected for the funeral Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Lou Ketel of Worthington who were also callers at the home of their sister, Mrs. Gerrit Roghair in Alton.
