Peter Miller Dies at the Great age of Ninety-seven Years. Alton Democrat. Peter Miller, age 97, for twenty-one years a resident of Alton, died Monday evening, January 11, at Sioux City, from old age. Mr. Miller went to Sioux City a year ago to live with his nephew, Peter Miller, and previous to that time resided here with his niece, Miss Sadie Miller. He had been in feeble health for some years, until the care of him became too much for Miss Miller.
Mr. Miller was a bachelor and outlived his immediate relatives. He will be missed, however, by his. nieces and nephews who remember his kindly ways. Peter Miller was born in Coblenz. Germany. He came to the United States about fifty years ago, settling on. a farm near LeMars. In 1899 he sold his farm and came to Alton to live with his niece and her mother, where he remained until last year. Funeral services were held at St. Boniface church in Sioux City and interment, was in St. Mary's cemetery at Alton on Wednesday, January 14. Relatives here from out of town were: Mesdames Jos. E. Miller, Tony and John Weidenfeller, of Merrill; Mr. and Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Tony Miller, of LeMars; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Miller, of Sioux City; Mr. and Mrs. Hoefllng, of Merrill; John Schumacher, of Chatsworth, and Mrs. Anna Simon, of Sioux City
