GRANVILLE YOUTH KILLED WHEN CAR FALLS ON HIM--JACKED UP CAR CRASHES, CRUSHES GERALD SCHWARZ

Gerald Schwarz, 19, of Granville was crushed to death under a car he was repairing Saturday when the jack slipped and the car collapsed on the young man.

He was putting a new spring in the car, working with Ralph Schnurr near the Slagle Lumber Yard. Ralph left at about three p.m. for lunch and returning a half hour later, found his friend dead under the car, which belonged to Gerald.

The young man’s chest was crushed by the falling car, which had one of the wheels off. It had been supported by two jacks.

Gerald was the son of Frank and Agnes (Kobbermann) Schwarz and was born in Granville June 23, 1934. Survivors include his parents, three brothers, Frank Jr. of Sheldon, Donald and Richard at home and one sister Doris; also his grandmother, Mrs. Walburga Schwarz.

The funeral was held Tuesday at St, Joseph Church, Reverend Nick Becker officiating. Pallbearers were Charles Neuroth, Don Bohlke, Marvin Moos, Frances Bachmann, Tom Mousel and Ralph Schnurr.
