Young Woman Dies After many weeks of illness

Mrs. Milo Schwartz, 32, of Sioux City died Tuesday evening, April 6, at 7:45 in Grossmann Hospital.

She had been sick since the birth of a son, David K., March 4. The baby died several days later. On March 24 she was dismissed to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Van Roekel of Orange City, but she re-entered the hospital March 30 ill with a cold complicated by diabetes with which she had suffered the last 20 years.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the home of her parents, and at 1:30 in Trinity Church. Officiating will be Reverend Roberts of the Methodist Church, Sioux City, which Mrs. Schwartz had joined a short time ago. Burial will be in the Orange City Cemetery, and the Van Etten Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Schwartz, nee Ruth Van Roekel, was born February 28, 1916 on a farm near Maurice.

She graduated from Maurice High and took a business course at N.B.T., Sioux City. She worked for the Farm Bureau here, and then for several years in the Triple A office.

Five years ago, March 22, she was married, to Milo Schwartz and they lived for a time in Oklahoma. They then moved to Sioux City.

Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by two brothers, Milton Van Roekel, Sioux County recorder, and Elmer Van Roekel of Maurice.

Sympathy is extended to the family, and especially to Mrs. Van Roekel who lost her brother C.J. De Jong of Maurice, and her daughter within three days.
