Funeral Service for McGloghlon
Funeral services for Deputy Sherriff Harry McGloghlon who passed away Sunday Feb 27, were held at the American Reformed church at Orange City at 1 o’clock last Thursday afternoon, with Rev. H. Stegeman in charge. The remains were brought to Hawarden and services were held at the Methodist church at 2:00 with the same Minister officiating.
American Legion posts of Orange City and Hawarden were in charge of the services at the grave in Grace Hill cemetery. Pall bearers were county officers, Harry Dykstra, Dewey Wiersma, M. J. Van Wyk, Milton Van Roekel, C. E. Balkema and H. J. Te Paske.
Out of town relatives who attended the service were Mr. and Mr. Leo Comstock of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Pollock of Fort Dodge, Seaman first Class and Mrs. Bernard Taylor of Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Emma Carlson, Mrs. Alfred Carlson and S. E. Carlson of Benson MN. Relatives from Hawarden who went to Orange City for the services were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Christiansen and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kahl and son.
