Rites held here Monday for Sam T. Schutt, 63

Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church here at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 27, for Sam T. Schutt, 63, prominent farmer of Sioux Center Community, and part-time employee of Tri-State Livestock Auction Co., Inc., who died at the Sioux Center Community Hospital Friday evening following a few days confinement.

Services were conducted by the Reverend Jack Boerigter and burial was made in Memory Gardens Cemetery here under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home.

Mr. Schutt was a lifelong resident of this community. He was born in Sioux Center August 4, 1908, the son of Teunis and Wilhelmina (Bierma) Schutt, and had farmed in the area following his marriage March 10, 1911, to Grace Peelen of Sioux Center.

Survivors besides his wife include four children, Eunice May (Mrs. Kenneth Hulstein) of Sioux Center; Howard of Huron, South Dakota, Eugene of Hospers, Iowa, and Sandra (Mrs. Norlyn Vande Brake) of Orange City; 14 grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters, Fannie (Mrs. Fred Cleveringa) of Sioux Center, Alice (Mrs. Ted Kaemingk) of Sioux Center, Harriet (Mrs. Melvin Borgman) of Santa Maria, California, William and Gerald, both of Sioux Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Margaret, and two grandson, twins of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Schutt.
