Mrs. Elisabeth "Elise" Schult, mother of Reverend William Baetke, died at his home on the 17th of May 5 A.M. after a sickness of about four weeks. She was born the 13th of March, 1837 in Germany and resided there for the longest time of her life. In 1906 she emigrated to America and made her home at first with her son, Herman, minister at Jewel, Ohio; then with her son Carl at that time minister at Welcome, Minnesota; then with her son, William, minister at Boyden; for two years she then lived with her son August, minister at Tripp, South Dakota. In 1910 she again came to her son William at Boyden and stayed with him to the end of her life. Her age was 79 years, 2 months, and 4 days. Mrs. Schult was married twice and is mother of three sons, 5 step-sons and one step daughter. Of these children 5 are ministers of the Gospel in the Lutheran Church.

The funeral services, on the 20th of May, were conducted in the house by Reverend H. Dieter of George, in the church and at the grave by Reverend P. Bunge of Hull and Reverend F. Sauerbrey of Sheldon.

She is survived by Reverend William Baetke, Boyden; Reverend C. Baetke of Martin, South Dakota; Reverend A. Hein, Tripp, South Dakota; Reverend H. Schult, Jewel, Ohio; Reverend A. Schult, Webster, South Dakota; Mr. F. Baetke of Davenport, Iowa.
