Rites Today For Mrs. M. Schut

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) for Mrs. Wilhelmina "Minnie" Schut, 75, long-time Sioux Center resident, who passed away Monday, January 9, at the Sioux Center hospital.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home and at 1:30 at the First Reformed Church with Reverend Harry Brower officiating. Burial will be in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery.

Mrs. Schut, nee Minnie Bierma, was born June 28, 1885, and came to this area at the age of 7 years. She was united in marriage to Teunis Schut on February 25 1903. He preceded her in death in 1935.

She is survived by three daughters and three sons: Harriet (Mrs. Melvin Borgman) of Santa Maria, California, Fannie (Mrs. Fred F. Cleveringa), Alice (Mrs. Ted Kaemingk, Sr.), Sam, William and Gerald, all of Sioux Center.

Also surviving are two brothers, John and Ben Bierma both of Sioux Center, 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Schut spent most of her life in the Sioux Center area and was a member of the First Reformed Church here.
