Mr. Herman Schumacher, a prominent local contractor and builder, passed away at his home Friday afternoon. Mr. Schumacher had not been in the best of health for the past two years because of heart trouble.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the home and the St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Reverend Meinen in charge. The pallbearers were Paul Ammon, Henry Von Elm, William Hollander, Fred Hollander, Albert Heinle and Teoph Ackerman. Burial was made in St. Paul's Cemetery.

Mourning the loss of a devoted husband and father are his wife, the former Meta Goeringer, and six children: Erwin, who attends school at Ames; Irene and Verna, who attend school at Cedar Falls; Edith, Richard, and Norman at home. Also one sister in Germany, which was Mr. Schumacher's birthplace 49 years ago, on March 28, 1902.
