Lawrence Schumacher, 36, of Alcester died Sunday morning at his home after an illness of several years.

Mr. Schumacher was well known here as he spent most of his life on a farm south of Hawarden.

Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at St. Theresa Catholic Church at Beresford with Reverend Father F. McCabe officiating. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hawarden under the direction of the Frazier Funeral Service.

Lawrence J. Schumacher, son of Mrs. Tony Schumacher of Alcester, was born April 18, 1914, on a farm about four miles south of Hawarden. He grew up on the farm and married Miss Edythe Muth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Muth of Hawarden, June 5, 1939. Following his marriage he continued to live with his parents and assisted with the farm work. About 12 years ago he moved onto a farm near Alcester and lived in that vicinity since that time.

Survivors are the widow Edythe; his mother, Mrs. Tony Schumacher of Alcester; five brothers, Gregory, Leo, Joseph and George of Alcester and Anthony of Sioux City, and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Busch of Alcester and Mrs. John Rembe of Sioux City. His father and two brothers preceded him in death.
