Note: In a report on ancestry.com (by others) Emma Jane Waterbury was born May 21, 1858 New Canaan Conn. She married Wilson B. Martin bprn 1841. They had one son and two daughters. She died 1919 at Westfield IA. Her parents were Squire Alexander Waterbury and Sarah Louisa Jones.

Emma J. Waterbury was born in New Canaan, Conn., May 31, 1858., and died in Westfield, la., May 23, 1919, at the age of 60 years, 11 months, 24 days. , She moved to Dakota Territory with her parents In the fall of 1878. On March 28, 1892, she was united in marriage to Wilson B. Martin. To this union were born three children, one son and two daughters, Dwight and Mrs. Walter Deen, who reside here, and Auriel, who was living with her mother at the time of her death. Besides her children she leave's to mourn her taking away, three step sons, Frank, Walter and Will Martin, and one step daughter, Bell Robinson, one brother and three sisters, I. N. Waterbury, Mrs. Estella Frank, Mrs. Josie Waterbury and Mrs. Robert Schaber, besides many other relatives and friends. She Joined the Methodist Episcopal church in Akron, la., in 1879, of which she was still a member. She was a loving mother and wife, and a kind neighbor. She gave her life and thought to her home and all that was good, and was ever ready to lend a helping hand to those in sorrow or need. The funeral services were held at the Westfleld Congregational church Sunday, May 25. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery at Hawarden, la-., beside her father and mother. The pall bearers were Lon Lilly, Lin Lilly, Melvin Moffat, Royal Lias, Frank Moffat, John Hummel.
