Martin, Charles D. born 10 Jul 1867 died 6 Mar 1893 buried in Grace Hill cemetery Hawarden

Hawarden Independent of March 9th 1893
Died – At his residence in Calliope, Charles Martin aged 24 years, yielded to the grim destroyer death by catarrh of the throat, on March 6th 1893. O. M. Thrasker, pastor of the Baptist church assisted by the Rev. Gill of the Presbyterian church, officiated at the funeral services.
The deceased was sell known in this vicinity, having spent the greater part of his life in and around Calliope. He was a young man of good habits and highly esteemed by all. He leaves a wife and little girl besides a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his death.
The services were conducted in the Presbyterian church a large congregation assembled to pay their last sad respect to the departed. There were many detained at their homos on account of the conditions of the roads and the steadily falling rain. Being a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, that organization attended the funeral in a body and took charge of the remains from the church to the cemetery. At the latter place they, carried out their impressive burial service.

Note: A report on ancestry.com lists Charles D. Martin born July 10, 1867 married Hannah C. Johnson Martin Aronson on Jun 15, 1889 at Big Springs SD. They had one child, he died March 6, 1893 Hawarden IA. His wife was the daughter of Peter J. and Inga Johnson. Daughter was Clara Martin born Sept 14 1890 died 1938
